Terms of Service
Version 2026-09-13. Last updated 2026-09-13.
These terms apply when you use MowMatch to request work or to offer work. Read them before you accept an offer. Accepting an offer means you agree to them.
1. Who you are dealing with
MowMatch is operated by MemoryForge, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company.
MowMatch is a broker. It connects people who need work done (requesters) with people who do the work (workers). MowMatch does not do the work, does not employ the workers, and does not supervise them on site.
When you accept an offer, your contract for the work is with the worker who made it. MowMatch handles the introduction, the messages, and the payment.
2. Workers are independent contractors
Every worker on MowMatch is an independent contractor. Workers decide which jobs to offer on, what to charge, how to do the work, and what tools to bring. They may work for anyone else at any time.
MowMatch does not set a worker's price and does not publish a rate card. The price on an offer is the worker's own number.
Workers carry their own liability for their work. If a worker damages your property, your claim is against the worker. MowMatch will help you reach the worker and will apply its refund rules, but it does not insure the work.
3. One itemized total before you pay
Before you accept an offer you see three lines: the worker's price, MowMatch fee, and the total. The total is the amount charged to your card. There is no "starting at" price and nothing is added after you accept.
The only way the total changes is a price change you approve. If a worker finds more work than expected on site, they submit a revised amount and you approve or decline it in the app. If you decline, the original total stands.
4. How and when your card is charged
- When you accept an offer, your card is saved. Nothing is charged at that moment.
- Before the job starts, MowMatch places a hold on your card for the total. If the job starts within 4 days the hold is placed at acceptance. Otherwise it is placed 24 hours before the scheduled start.
- If the hold fails, you are asked to fix your card. If it still fails two hours before start, the job is cancelled and nothing is charged.
- The charge is captured when the worker marks the job complete and you confirm it, or automatically 24 hours after the worker marks it complete if you do not respond.
Card processing is handled by Stripe. MowMatch never stores your full card number.
5. Cancellation
Cancel more than 24 hours before the scheduled start and you pay nothing.
Cancel within 24 hours of the scheduled start and your saved card is charged a cancellation fee. The fee is the lesser of one hour of the worker's offered rate or $35. The fee goes to the worker, less the MowMatch fee.
If a worker cancels, you pay nothing. MowMatch sends your request back out to other workers at no cost to you, and the cancelling worker's ranking is reduced.
If no worker offers on your request, you are not charged. You can keep the request open, change the time, or cancel it free.
6. Disputes
You can open a dispute up to 48 hours after the charge is captured.
Open a dispute from the job in the app or from the help page. Say what went wrong and add photos if you have them. MowMatch reviews the job photos, the messages, and both sides' statements, then decides. You see the outcome and any refund amount in the app.
Disputes opened after the 48-hour window are not accepted through the app. You can still contact the worker directly.
7. Refunds
A dispute decision and any refund are issued within 5 business days of the dispute being opened.
Refunds may be full or partial. A refund includes the MowMatch fee on the refunded amount. Refunds go back to the card that was charged. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.
The full policy is in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
8. What we ask of you
- Give an accurate description and photos of the work so the worker can price it fairly.
- Be reachable during the arrival window.
- Keep pets, vehicles, and people clear of the work area.
- Treat workers with respect. Abuse, threats, or harassment end your access to MowMatch.
- Do not ask a worker to take a job off MowMatch. It removes the protections on this page for both of you.
9. Reviews
After a job, both sides can leave a review. Reviews are hidden until both are in or seven days pass, then both are shown. Reviews that contain personal information, abuse, or content unrelated to the job may be removed.
10. Accounts and ending access
You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself. MowMatch may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, does not pay, or is used to harm others. You can close your account at any time from your profile or by asking on the help page.
11. Limits on MowMatch's responsibility
MowMatch provides the introduction and the payment service as they are. It does not guarantee that a worker will offer on your request, arrive on time, or do the work to any standard. To the extent the law allows, MowMatch's total responsibility to you for any job is limited to the amount you paid MowMatch for that job.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Maryland consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. Any dispute that is not settled through MowMatch's process is brought in the state or federal courts located in Maryland.
13. Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the version date at the top changes and you are asked to accept the new version the next time you accept an offer. Jobs already accepted stay under the version you accepted.
14. Questions
Ask on the help page. A person reads every message.
